Tanya Boyd
Tanya Boyd is a rider and instructor.
She began riding Western and Hunt Seat as a child, then switched to eventing and dressage through involvement in the United States Pony Club, from which she graduated as an 'H-A'. Tanya took a few years off from riding and involvement with horses to concentrate on college and graduate school studies, but soon found that she could not be away from the horses. So she took a working student position at Hilltop Farm, where she took part in the Integrated Approach to Teaching and Learning Program (evolved into EES).
During this time, Tanya also became involved with the newly developed International Academy for Equestrian Studies (2001-2003) and had the opportunity to live in Germany for one year and complete the Trainer B program during that time. When the Academy took on a new management team and moved the campus to Rhede, Germany, Tanya continued to work with the new Etoile-International Equestrian Academy through September 2005. She enjoys the challenge and benefits of integrating skills from a variety of areas into the equestrian arena. Tanya's role with EES, as assistant to Jill, instructor, editor, and clinician is flexible enough to allow her to pursue her many interests. Tanya now lives on Whidbey Island in Washington state with her husband Brian and son Caelan. She is pursuing her Ph.D in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
"Eckart Meyners is a master integrator. It is energizing and exciting to be in the company of such a person, and every time I watch him work I learn something new. I believe that his cutting edge approach to educating riders is helpful for all instructors and I am interested in helping make this knowledge and these skills available to any who are interested in learning. The addition of Hannes Müller to the team makes the information just that much more powerful and effective through his sensitive and knowledgeable approach to training the horse."
Tanya is involved at three levels:
- As Jill's assistant in planning and developing this program;
- As a participant to learn as much as possible regarding teaching & riding from Eckart Meyners and Hannes Müller and;
- As a Graduate Core Instructor.
