Linda Christie, Germany

Linda Christie Linda Christie's love of horses began at an early age. She began riding at the age of 10, became an active 4-H member and a very successful competitor on the local show circuit. She realized that riding was her passion and wanted to make it a career. She began her journey by attending Salem College in Salem, West Virginia, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Equestrian Studies. Carrying on with her education, she attended the Westmoreland Davis Equestrian Institute in Leesburg, Virginia. While there, she met Olympic Gold Medalist, Tad Coffin. Linda continued her riding education under Tad's guidance for the next four years, while managing his large, competitive training facility.

During this time, Linda acquired "Pepperland", a young, promising Swedish Warmblood gelding by the famous sire Urbino. "Bill" as he was known by his friends, became a well-known figure in the show ring for Linda, earning many high point awards, including national awards at first and second levels. Linda competed Bill successfully through 4th level and earned her USDF bronze medal while riding him.

Linda next began working as an assistant trainer for a German Bereiter in Maryland, who introduced her to the German training scale and the German system of teaching and riding. The German System became the core of Linda's training program and she was determined to seek the opportunity to train in Germany. The opportunity came with the opening of the International Academy for Equestrian Studies in Warendorf, Germany. Linda accepted the position of Barn Manager for the new school. There she continued her own riding education with her beloved schoolmasters "April", "Karlchen", and "Ecuador". Her work at the school provided her with the opportunity to train with many renowned dressage clinicians, trainers, and riders including Bimbo Peilica, Eckart Meyners, and Angelika Froemming.

Linda still lives and trains in Germany. She continues her association with many of the most respected trainers in Germany, and she has developed many lasting relationships with the horse community. Linda's goals are to share her knowledge with her students and to provide North American riders with the opportunity to study and learn the German riding system and culture. She hopes that the passion and joy she has experienced with horses is something she can share with others.

"I have watched Eckart's work for over 4 years, now. I have seen him help so many people get rid of blockages in their bodies that prevent them from riding to their best ability and the results are absolutely amazing! The people are so grateful for his help. I myself am a rider who has benefited greatly from Eckart's system and I want to be able to share this knowledge with others who want to ride the best that they possibly can!"
