Kathy Kelly, Ph.D. , FL
Kathy is trained in clinical psychology, with a special emphasis on sports psychology, communications, eating disorders, and trauma. A horsewoman herself, Kathy rode actively in the eventing, dressage, and hunter/jumper disciplines until entering graduate school.
Working with EES, Kathy co-authored the books "Equestrian Education" and "The Riding Experience and Beyond" with Jill Hassler-Scoop. Jill and Kathy have also conducted numerous clinics together, putting the psychology piece into practical application.
Kathy stays involved in the horse world through her role as a National Examiner for the United States Pony Clubs. She travels nationwide giving clinics preparing riders for upper-level exams. Kathy finds it highly rewarding to work with EES, developing and fine tuning the often natural psychological skills and abilities of equestrian educators and riders. Her inside knowledge of the horse world, sense of humor, and keen insight help make the material she presents immediately useful and relevant. She is a popular presenter for various horse organizations here in the USA and abroad. Kathy lives in Ocala, FL.
