Alison End, MA
Alison End was a pilot instructor in the early stages of Eckart Meyners' instructor program in the United States. She is now a Graduate Instructor of the Balimo™ Program and serves as a faculty member for a number of distance learning courses. She is also a board member and recently took on the role of acting executive co-director for EES with Vicky Busch.
Alison was the youngest person to receive her USDF Instructor Certification through 2nd level in 2002. She competed for Region 8 at the North American Young Riders Championships in 2001 and 2002 and participated in the Advanced Young Rider Graduate Program in 2003. Alison has won USDF Regional Championships including the 4th Level and Prix St. Georges Championships in 2002. She has competed through Intermediare I.
Most of Alison's training has been with Lendon Gray. She has worked with her for about 7 years including time as a working student and as a full-time assistant for a year after graduating from college. Alison has also ridden with clinicians including Conrad Schumacher, Lars Peterson, Pam Goodrich, Ulla Salzgeber, and Inge Schmezer.
For a long time, Alison has balanced her life as a rider, instructor, and trainer, with her endeavors as an academic. She graduated from Dartmouth College in 2004 with a major in Neuroscience. Her love of the study of the brain is one of the many reasons that Alison has been captivated by Mr. Meyners' work.
"In addition to giving me great tools with which to help my students find their own correct position on a horse, Mr. Meyners' methods of teaching have revolutionized the way that I think about education. I hope that through my involvement in this program I may bring a unique perspective to the way that dressage is taught in the United States."
